Statement - FLC
believes the Old and New Testament Scriptures to be the Word of God, without error
in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation
of mankind, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life
(2 Tim. 3:16 & John 1:1).
- FLC
believes in one God, the Creator of all things, perfect and eternally existing
in three Persons- the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 14:6,7 & Luke 3:21,22).
- FLC
believes that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, having been conceived of
the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice
for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended
into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of God. He now is our High Priest
and Counselor (Luke 1:26-35; Luke 23:26-47; Luke 24:1-12 & Luke 24:50-53).
- FLC
believes that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ,
and during this day and time to convict the hearts of mankind, bring restoration
back to the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer
for godly living and a commitment to ministry (Heb. 10:19-25).
- FLC
believes that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore
lost and only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ can salvation and eternal
life be obtained (Gen. 3:1-24; Gen. 9:7-17 ; Ezekiel 36:25-28 & Acts 4:8-12).
- FLC
believes that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed.
They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation
(1 Cor. 11:24-26
& John 3:5-8).
- FLC
believes that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that FLC has
the right under Christ and the Scriptures to govern itself (Eph. 2: 19-22).
- FLC
believes that the true Church is composed of all such persons who have been reconciled
to the Father by the Holy Spirit through the saving grace of Jesus Christ and
are united together in the body of Christ of which He is Head (Eph. 4:3-7).
